Hey Webflailers - it’s Jack.

Didn't sleep because I was wondering what to write here. It's 6.15am as I write this intro. Early worms catch birds as they say though.

Today:

  • 5 Ways To Get Webflow Clients (Trying & Failing)
  • Episode 85 | Accenture Employees to Webflow Enterprise Agency Founders | with Tim Janes and Dan Foster
  • 3 Inspo sites
  • 3 Webflow jobs

Let Enzo see the Ferrari.

ps. No blog this week. - working on a naughty one but it will come next week

Is that horizontal scroll layout helping conversions? 🙃

The client wants to implement a horizontal scroll since they saw a photography website with it and they want it for their e-commerce site which sells foot warmers for dogs.

"Dammit - that's going to massively affect conversions," you think. "If only there was a quick and easy way to test this using a tool specifically designed for Webflow websites that doesn't cost the world."

Then you find Optibase 🔥

  • A/B Test Your Webflow Site: Measure how effective colour choices, design elements, copy choices, layouts and more on your webflow sites
  • No flickering: No flickering that can mess up your website’s UX
  • Performance: Test without impacting your website’s performance
  • Audience segmentation: Geolocation and screen size

5 Ways To Get Webflow Clients (Trying & Failing)

I'm trying my best to generate leads for Macu Studio. And it's going semi-well. Here's are the different approaches we're taking to get Webflow clients:

1) Past clients

2) Partnerships

3) Content

4) Social Media

5) Case Studies

Ep 85 | Accenture Employees to Webflow Enterprise Agency Founders | with Tim Janes & Dan Foster

Today my guests are Tim Janes and Dan Foster, co-founders of MakeBuild Studio - a design and innovation studio from London in the UK.

Tim’s background as a visual designer and Dan’s background digital designer and UX consultant meant these 2 were a power duo when starting Makebuild 4 years ago.

Though they have designed and built a lotttt of Webflow websites, they have also been experimenting emerging technologies like AR. In fact, recently, they made an AR project with Fruitella - the sweet brand. To help launch a new jelly sweets, they created a world and then select a creature which you could see in your living room on your phone screen.

Makebuild have recently hired Liam Mews and Greg Faulkner so they’re flying high and growing a team but we want to know about how they got here don’t we?!

The failures that we’ll talk about in this episode are:

1) Not scaling up the team early enough

2) Not niching down early enough

3) Not focusing on producing great work

3 Inspo Websites

Atoms

Fun animations, friendly hand drawn illustrations and beautiful Cooper BT font looking mighty fine. Never has a boulder animation looked so friendly. Great work from Tomáš Mrázek and Partner agency

Resistomap

A website that's irresistoble - gentle colour pallette, large sans serif font, clear layout. Makes you feel this is a trustworth monitoring system for antibiotic resistance in sludge. JUST WHAT I NEED. Felix Meens killed it!

Patrick David

Dann Petty's coffee shop comes to life! Seriously captured Dann's surfer style and rad vibe bro dropped in and then whabam. Really love this work from Peter Hulce.

"Beautiful conversation! Uros is one of my favorite Webflow dudes. This episode strengthened my feeling that the best and worst moments always come down to people and relationships. “Strong back, soft front, wild heart” was a new phrase for me too. Love it."
